Interview Date: 10 April 2007
Interview With: Mr. Pat Pudom
San Carlos, CA
Interviewer: Linda Milks
*Conducted by phone from home in San Francisco.

Pat was referred to me by Viviane Chen. She told me of a sweet communication with a tree she and Pat had in May while talking outside of a Buddhist church in the South SF Bay area. He kindly consented to tell me about this and other connections he has had with trees.
These experiences seemed surprising to him as he had little context to put them in.
I have not met Pat but he is obviously a very helpful and kind man. He is Thai by birth and owns the Thai Times restaurant in San Carlos.
One of the aspects I like about his stories are the wonder and novelty in his experiences of these events!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pat:
On a Sunday afternoon I was talking with Viviane outside of a church and I was just looking at a tree and it seemed to me to be a very loving tree so I wanted to stand against it. I had the feeling like I could absorb the energy of the tree. We were talking about some spiritual stuff, the dhamma, Buddhism , and after our conversation I moved to another tree.
And all of a sudden I heard this noise come from the original tree that I was standing with. – I thought it might be some insect on the tree and then I said to Viviane, “can you hear this noise”? She said yeah – I said “what is it? Is it an insect or is it from the tree directly?” She said, “oh no, it’s coming directly from the tree."
And we paid closer attention and, I can't tell if it’s a tree branch or something making this noise. When we were talking and I was leaning on the tree there was no sound coming out from the tree at all.
But once I moved away the tree started making noise. We were curious and Viviane said, "oh maybe you should stay with the tree, it seems to like it when you're there."
So I went to stand by the tree and the noise stopped. And when we moved out again the tree maked the noise again.
And I say, “ I heard people say that trees talk and I wonder if this is what they mean by the tree talking?” And Viviane said, "oh that’s it, that’s the tree talking."
So I went back to the tree and touched it and I feel that the tree is very alive, very loving. And while I was touching the tree I felt almost like I was touching a dog, which is very unusual, that the tree felt that much alive like an animal. And this was my experience.
Linda:
That’s a beautiful story. Do you know what kind of tree it was?
Pat:
Oh, it is maybe some kind of pine tree...
Linda:
Were you speaking in English with Viviane?
Pat:
Yes, we were talking in English.
The next story is in Sedona. I went to a spiritual retreat and the person who arranged the retreat said, oh how about we connect with a tree and see what we can come up with. And she leaves it open for everyone to have their own experience. So we connect with the tree it seems like the tree relates information to me about itself.
And I don’t quite remember all the content but it seems that if we can just tune into the tree then the information is right there. They are willing and they are ready to give out any information that they may have including the properties involved in healing people or any advantage to humans that they can provide, etc.
Because the consciousness of these trees hold all this information relating to various health matters and other issues. But it depends on our ability as humans to connect with them to get all this information.
And also, coming back to the first tree , it seems that its not me who picked out the tree, it’s the tree who wanted to communicate with me and so made the noise to get my attention. That is what I feel.
Linda:
I think many people reading this might be able to recall something in their own experiences that are similar to yours. I know I can.
Pat:
I think that is about the main experience for me...
But onetime, I went to buy a plant at Home Depot. I was with a friend and I was trying to make a choice but I didn’t know which one to pick. And then it feels like one of the them in the plant box calls to me, “Pick me, pick me, pick me!”
So I picked that plant and came home.!
I don’t know how that happened, but it seems that particular one called me to pick it up, it called, “Pick me pick me!” ( we laugh)
Linda:
When did that happen?
Pat:
Oh maybe a year or two ago.
Linda:
Ok – and what about the event in Sedona? When was that approximately?
Pat:
That was oh, a few years ago, maybe 2003...
Also, I think the plant I connected with in Sedona is called a Juniper tree.
Linda:
I love your stories and I appreciate you taking the time to tell me about them!
Pat:
Yeah OK.!
